Richard is the owner of Restharrow Farm, a family farm in Trebetherick, near Rock and only a few miles from our restaurants in Port Isaac. Originally he grew cauliflowers and leeks but, like many farmers over recent years, he realised he needed to diversify to survive.

Today, about twenty acres of his land grows vegetables that include carrots, courgettes, cabbage and spinach. His success is two-fold, the richness of his soil and his passion for his produce.

His son Hartley works on the land with him and although Richard is now in his seventies, there is definitely no sign of slowing down. His enthusiasm and pride are limitless, it’s not just a job it’s a way of life.
