Band of Outlaw’s – Anna Davey

This month we caught up with Anna. We asked her those ten questions…

1 – What do you do?
Restaurant Manager at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw.

2 – How long have you been an Outlaw for?
Nearly 8 years – crikey!

3 – What do you do in your spare time?
A lot of my spare time definitely revolves around eating and drinking…other than that – snowboarding (requires snow), horse riding (I don’t have a horse), arty things, making the most of the Cornish coastline on a wild day, and I’m a bit of an adrenalin junkie so give me a bungee or a zip line and I’ll be straight on it.

4 – Can you remember your first day?
Ah yes, I remember I was actually just there for an interview, but the team were a bit short staffed that evening so I was thrust straight into a service! I must have done alright, we all lived to tell the tale.

5 – Tell us the best dish you have ever eaten (either at Nathan Outlaw or anywhere else)?
The first that pops to mind would be eating the most fresh, tasty ceviche and guacamole imaginable at Fuego, in Kuala Lumpur. On a more homely note, my first meal back at home with my family after 2 years of travelling has to be up there… mum’s lasagne followed by tiramisu….yesss…

6 – What is your favourite drink?
Well wine naturally – for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And perhaps a margarita for when the sun is shining.

7 – What music do you like and who is your favourite artist?
The Cure, The Smiths, Modest Mouse and Fleetwood Mac are a few definite favourites. We saw an amazing old Blues guy called Linsey Alexander play in Chicago which will stay with me forever.

8 – Who would you invite to dinner?
Ace Ventura and David Attenborough – they’d have some great chat.

9 – What’s your favourite ingredient?
I think I’d have to take chilli and garlic as a combo ingredient.

10 – If you could eat anywhere in the world, where would it be?
China – though I’d want to know what was inside my dumpling…
