Autumn Beach Clean

Autumn Beach Clean

On Sunday 21st October, staff, customers and friends volunteered their time to help with the Surfers Against Sewage – Autumn Beach Clean.

Choosing Daymer Bay Beach – the team met at 11am in the car park and then spent over 3 hours, scouring the length and breadth of the beach for rubbish, picking up along the way, bottles, dog poo bags, fishing net and even an old lobster pot!

All in all, over 7 bags of rubbish were filled and even a valiant attempt to pull up over 5 tonnes of embedded fishing net in the sand (which has now been notified to the relevant authorities and to the SAS, as it will need a tractor with a digger to excavate), it was a great day out and a reminder to us all, that our beaches and sea life, constantly need our help and protection.

Thanks to everyone who came down and supported this first beach clean organised by Nathan Outlaw Restaurants, we will let you know in advance, when the next one is.
